Suspend/Unsuspend a Domain Name Print

  • 48

Order Suspension is a valuable feature available to Domain India resellers. When a domain name is suspended, it remains in the database but becomes inactive, and its associated functionality becomes unavailable. Suspending a domain name registration order results in the following effects:

  • Any website or email service associated with the domain name will cease to function.
  • The contact details and name servers of the suspended domain name cannot be modified.
  • Transfer requests for the domain name to another registrar will fail at the registry level and will not be allowed.
  • Domain name renewal or deletion will not be possible.
  • An internal move of the domain name (to another customer account) will not be possible in this state.

Important Note

Domain India does not support the Suspension/Unsuspension feature for domain names under the following extensions:

  • .EU (Domain name suspension not supported by the registry)
  • .UK (Domain name suspension not supported by the registry)

To suspend or unsuspend a domain name, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Control Panel, search for the domain name, and proceed to the Order Details view.
  2. Click the "Suspend/Unsuspend" link.

To suspend the service:

  • Select the checkbox for "Suspension."
  • Enter a relevant reason for the suspension.
  • Click the "Update" button.

The suspension reason will only be visible to your immediate sub-reseller/customer within their respective control panels.

To unsuspend the service:

  • Unselect the "Suspension" checkbox.
  • Click the "Update" button.

By following the steps above, you can easily suspend or unsuspend a domain name depending on your requirements. Remember that the suspension feature is not available for all domain name extensions, so ensure you check the compatibility before attempting to suspend a domain name.
