Connecting domain to hosting Print

Connecting your domain to your web hosting is an essential step to make your website accessible on the internet. Follow these steps to connect your domain to your hosting:

1. Obtain nameservers from your web hosting provider:
After signing up for a web hosting account, you'll receive an email with your hosting account details. This email will include your nameservers, which are usually in the format:

- ns1.examplehostingprovider.com
- ns2.examplehostingprovider.com

Make a note of these nameservers as you'll need them to update your domain's settings.

2. Log in to your domain registrar account:
Access the account where you registered your domain name (e.g., DOMAIN INDIA). Look for an option like "My Domains" or "Domain Management."

3. Update your domain's nameservers:
Find the domain you want to connect to your hosting account and look for the option to update or manage its nameservers. Replace the existing nameservers with the ones provided by your web hosting provider. Save the changes.

4. Wait for DNS propagation:
After updating your domain's nameservers, it can take up to 48 hours for DNS propagation to occur. This is the process where the new nameserver information is updated across the internet. During this time, your website may not be accessible, or it may appear intermittently.

5. Verify the connection:
After the DNS propagation period, check your domain by typing your domain name into your web browser's address bar. If the connection is successful, you should see your website or the default web page of your hosting provider. If you have not yet uploaded any content to your hosting account, you might see a "Coming Soon" or "Under Construction" page.

6. Upload your website files:
Now that your domain is connected to your hosting account, you can start uploading your website files. Use an FTP client or your hosting provider's file manager to upload your website files to the appropriate directory (usually named "public_html" or "www").

Once you've completed these steps, your domain will be connected to your hosting account, and your website will be accessible on the internet.
